It’s a great experience when you get into to your first apartment, a step in adulthood, and living on your own. Even though you can’t change the paint you have some great benefits to living in the apartment. No plumbing bills, or air conditioner problems, just call the manager and it will be fixed.

However, convenience apart, apartments are decorated to be ‘generic’. Once your furniture is moved in and you have placed your special pictures and table treasures, it still screams out ‘apartment’.

No matter what kind of floor you have, you can add a new touch to the room, and make it look unique.

Adding color will brighten any area up especially in an apartment suite. If you are unable to paint the walls a color you enjoy why not choose an area rug or a few other decors to add around on tables and shelves which show the style you enjoy. Just by adding an area rug you’ll notice the difference and how much life will jump out of just one piece. You always have options when shopping for an area rug. By using an area rug in your rooms your furniture will then tie in with the theme you want to design.

Why should you be concerned about protecting your apartment floors? Simple, it s called ‘security deposit’. In a perfect world there will be no wear and tear and no accidents while you live in your apartment. However, since we do not live in a perfect world, an area rug will do wonders.

Another great reason to choose area rugs is so when you decide to move, they’ll come with you. Make sure it’s a rug which you enjoy and just not something you purchased just because it was on sale. You want it to reflect your personal style.

The area rug looked amazing and made the walls, the carpet and my furniture all come together. It was like the room was a band full of instruments all playing a different tune while the area rug brought it all together and the symphony played.

You might feel overwhelmed when you reach the store and notice all the choices you’ll have when purchasing an area rug. Just think back at all the decor which you already have and what would go great with them. You don’t need to purchase new furniture or anything just because you are buying an area rug. Try blending the rug in with the colors which you already have going on in your apartment.

Make sure the choice of rug will match with other things in the room. An example is if you have more of a colonial style to your room, you should add a colonial looking rug. If you try and pick a design that doesn’t go with the furniture, you will make the room look bad. Or perhaps you have a pattern on the furniture, you should just get a simple rug with no patterns on, it will help the room remain simple.

Once your purchase the rug of your choice you can sit back and relax. Hopefully after this small change you’ll feel like its home once again.
